HELP with Balancing !!!
« on: September 30, 2007, 10:28:42 PM »
I have a Washburn EG332 and it will not stay in place when playing standing up.  When I let go it slides down.  I think the Neck is to Heavy!  Does any one know what to do to stop this and make it stay in place?

Hold onto it, also a strap will stop it falling down when you stand up[:D]. Last time I checked you needed to fret strings to get chords anyway, so grab hold and play the hell out of it.

Heh....all joking aside, some guitars are just improperly balanced.  Typically, the shape of the guitar dictates where you can mount strap points.  In some cases it's a trade off - style vs. comfort.  I have a Thunderbird bass that is ridiculously neck-heavy....if I let go, it'll plunge to the ground.  I may put some velcro on my strap to help counter this effect : )

I use a leather strap which has a suede finish on the inside. This stops it slipping downwards.
