Cool  looking Idols I took a different route and took a basic model with Tremolo and added upgraded pick guard I designed myself and then StringSavers Wow can't say enough about the quality of the product I finished off the neck by hand and got  a cool orange peel effect on rear of the tuning head. I worked hard getting tension strong enough to keep it in tune yet not too strong to keep you from making smooth dives and tremolo effects. I had a local boy 14 named Gunner who smoked on a Les Paul Anniversary with quilted maple top and he just tore a new one on my Idol and raved about the sound and action.I have a write-up on local Craigs List Big Island about it with photos. Plan to have him play at my birthday party if he gets back from Mainland in time June 22nd.

So, those are some pics of my WI16's tuned ressurection (all the job was home made by myself):

Here is the original sight (august 2006)

Without the original color and with some shape modifications (see the top rounded borders and the highest notes' place):

And finally the finished work:

nice, you've just totally blown my productivity for the day. That 68 is my dream guitar. I love the padauk idol too, didn't know they used that top profile on anything other than a WI-70.

You like the tone you get out of that -68? I notice a Marshall, what's the difference you're going for by going to the dimebuckers?

sweet guitars bro. Which one gets the most action?

The Marshall is just a 2x12 cab. I'm running a line6 spider valve. Also have some Crate cabs with Celestion Sevety/80's as well. I love the -68. The Dimebucker is really hot, but has nice harmonics with good lows and highs. Nice medium range as well. It all depends on what sound your looking for. I mostly play Hard Rock or Metal but it can be dialed back a bit for bluesier stuff.
Right now it's the 68 with the most use, only because I've got it tuned to Drop C so I can play around with some Godsmack. They all get their fare share of playing time!!!!!
Boogie Street Guitars does a lot of Deep carve Idols. I'm waiting on my Gold Top to be built right now. As soon as it hits BSG it coming to the Texas Compound!!!!!
