OMG - Is this for real?
« on: October 16, 2007, 03:18:22 PM »
I know Washburn's in the business to make money, but is there no shame? Here's what I'm talking about:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Hannah-Montana-REAL-Electric-Washburn-Guitar-NIB_W0QQitemZ320171121823QQihZ011QQcategoryZ33048QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Even though it's a Lyon, it's still part of the Washburn clan. [:o)][:0][?]

Ya know, I saw those a couple days ago and almost posted a picture. These kind of things are just lowering the value of our Washburns. Imagine playing out somewhere and someone recognizes the name on your headstock as the Hannah Banana guitar company? LOL

Hey I think you guys have it all wrong. I think Washburn is trying to expand the horizons of a mostly ignored audience. As EvilTwinGirlie said, there aren't enough girl rockers/shredders out there. I say go for it.

When some yeehaw points at your Washburn headstock and and starts yipping about Banana Montana, melt his efing face off with a blazing solo or freeze him solid with a nice chill rhythm. And then what?

They'll want to go buy a Washburn too!

Did anyone else notice the person in the background is not a person, it's a cardboard cut-out of that Montana chick. Wierd vibes come from that guitar. Note: It is not a toy, it is a real guitar

Here's the acoustic version. Note that it clearly says Washburn on the box (and maybe on the headstock under Disney. Can't quite make it out).

Heyyy, don't be picking on the cat.  I've tried out the Hello Kitty guitar (the larger, real one) and I liked it.  Mind you, I kinda like Hello Kitty, and the thing's got a really nice neck on it, satin finish and 70's headstock...

I haven't tried a low end Idol, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a real player.

I think the point was that the girly guitars are pretty much always really low end models, and in the case of fender squires utter pieces of crap. I'd like to see a decent entry level chick guitar. That's the real way to get girls into music. From experience though, most girls prefer to stand off stage and throw items of clothing[8D].

For me it's easy. I just say, honey, tune this for me[:D]. It helps when you're dating your guitar tech[8D], it's soo much easier when you have someone to set up your pedals exactly the way you like them.

i was thinking the same thing. decent guitars and i played one they have a nice feel to them. although the neck is a little thin for my liking and i herd the necks tend to warp easily.

the guitars:
B.C. Rich warlock
Washburn RB-2502
strat knock off

the amps:
Peavey Rage 158
Fender Rumble 100

Well, I think if it helps get some young people interested in guitar that's great.

I also think some of the Fender Squire's are great little guitars, so much depends on the set-up (no matter what brand).
