CB Strikes Again!
« on: December 06, 2007, 05:28:08 PM »
And she couldn't have picked a better week!  So I was getting ready to go to my class this afternoon, when one of the lawyers I office with came in and told me I had received something from RGG Music.  I told her that was my buddy Dave from the forum and it was probably a Christmas card.  She looked at me funny and suggested I might want to come take a look.  Out in the reception area was a box.  I knew it had to be a guitar and I told the other lawyer this couldn't possibly be right because I hadn't ordered another guitar.  But of course I opened it.  My office looked like the living room at Christmas after the kids have opened their presents.  I was throwing stuff everywhere just trying to get it open.  And when I opened the last box and pulled out the guitar, I saw this:

So say hello to my early Christmas present, a new EA52SWCE.[:D][:D][:D]

Awesome! Very cool CB.

I'm real interested in hearing how you'd compare it's sound and playability to the EA20SDL.

[:)]  several months ago, i emailed Dave, and said 'ok.  if he can't have a D'Aquisto, then he wants a guitar with this, this, this, and this'

Dave found all of those for me in this guitar.  he emailed me to let me know about it, and Shiner was going through those archtop blues, and i said let's do it.

so after a craptactular week of court, i went most of the lunch hour still working cases, and had about fifteen min before the afternoon docket.  Shiner was still in class, but i had an order to run over to one of the lawyers he rents office space from.  the office is a block away from where we're having court, so i run [slight exaggeration, fast walk] over to get the order to the lawyer to enter into district court this afternoon...

she's the only one in the office.

'ummmm... he got a package today'  [guilty look]  'was i supposed to hide it from him?'

'no, s'ok.  did he like it?'

'o, heckya, you wanna see?'

so we go down the hall to Shiner's office, and literally, looked like the aftermath of a three-year-old bday party unwrapping... packaging strewn here and yon.  and there she was.

lawyer says 'pick it up'

i did, and saw Dave's graffiti and grinned.  too wicked cool.

and best of all

NO CRACKS ANYWHERE!!!

[:D][:D][:D]

merry xmas, honey, you deserve it in spades.

and i cannot say enough about RGG music, Dave, or his customer service.  you da man, Dave!!!  [toast for everyone!!!!  make toast, not war!!!]  [8D]

ok, Dread and Pike, here's your report.

after putting her through her paces, i'd say same playability in that her thinness makes it easier to play with my back issues.

she sounds meatier [ok, like wine tasting, i'm a butcher at this, i just have to tell you what i hear like a newbie] plugged in, but she hasn't opened up yet as much as my EA20, which has gotten the strings played off of her for quite some time.  so who knows what time will do to her.  shiner promptly changed the strings tonight, and she already sounds much better.

and shiner hasn't put her down since i did prior to coming to the computer.  [:D]

he's playing some whitesnake right now.  dang, we need another amp so we can play plugged together!!!  [8D]

Way to go CB....now I am sure Shiner has no more use for that lousy J28.....he really needs to mail that up here to me to cure my winter blues.

I find myself wondering this and maybe Dread could chime in.....For the couple who play together....could you take a Y connector and connect two guitars to one amp?

The old Peavey Bandit 112 I had had 2 inputs to it.....

CHILDBRIDE.... You're the BEST !!!! here my phone number if you want to give my lady some advice 1-418-739-****. I'll accept charge !!

Shiner you are a very lucky man. The back and side are AWESOME (of the guitar). The cutaway is so huge !!
That makes the count of how for you both guitars ?? That need an new familly pictures !

Don't think I'll have an guitar for christmas this year, I paid an 2000$ kitchen table for my lady. But she know, I'm lurking on an Epiphone SG at the local guitar shop... maybe she'll do something on my back, because, here sister came to visit us last week-end and I was alone with her, and I know their is a guitar store in his town, and she ask me: Does the guitar you want is RED ???? Maybe my lady ask her to compare the price... But I don't want to expect too much, so this way I won't be decaived if I receive an pick for christmas !

on the playability/comparative front, i forgot a couple of things... thought of them today at work.

i dunno if it was me or the guitar, but i want to give credit to the guitar... his frets cleaner.  the fretboards appear to be the same width, but w/o measuring, i'm just going by eye.  maybe the action?

also, interestingly enough, his lacks the double dots at the seventh that mine have.  i like my double dots, they help me nail my songs better, and now i'm spoiled.  [;)]

Millenium... ten, now.  i have four and shiner has six.  [:D]  i think we stop GAS-ing for a bit until our 'guitar wall' is constructed, b/c we're getting pretty full.  need more stands!!  [:D]  and i think you mean 'behind my back' and not 'on my back'?  [:)]

Pappy... same back atcha!

Kazz...  but the 'maple brigade' would miss their sister sledge!

i refused to bring any work home with me this weekend... too many gitfiddles, not enough time!

hope y'all have a great weekend!
