DUGLY'S GLASS SLIDES-----REVIEW
« on: December 10, 2007, 12:27:49 PM »
About a month ago, DUGLY offered to make us forumites some glass slides.  I took him up on his generous offer and he sent me two slides; one clear and one green.  He custom cut them to about 1.5 per my request, buffed the edges, etc.  I hadn't had the chance to test them out until yesterday.
These are KICK-ASS first rate slides.  They feel super, great sustain.  I test drove them on my cutaway acoustic and also on my brass-top reso.  I can't wait to get an amp and test them on my Washburn HB-32DM.  These babies are not clunky feeling, not unwieldy  at all despite being made of fairly thick glass.  I slide off my middle finger but tested them on my ring and pinky fingers too.  Very smooth feeling with a wonderful clear, bell like tone and they responded well to vibrato.
Thank you DUGLY, I love these to death.  Just great work my friend.

Since my index finger on my left hand is crippled would it be possible to use the glass slide on that finger to make barre chords??

You are so welcome, Pie!  Others have related to me similar positive comments.

So glad you like them  [:D] !!  Play them in good health--it's always my pleasure to share this passion we enjoy in whatever manner I can!

Pappy, let me take a look at that finger next time we're at Pearl, OK?

Dugly [8D]

P.S.--I have yet to finish the slides for one of our members, but I don't want him to think I've forgotten his request--hang on [:p] !!

Pappy,
The answer to your question is YES.  If DUGLY can get glass with a large enough inside diameter, he can make it any length you want.  Now, if you are putting it on your index finger, I would recommend that you go over the top of the fretboard, as opposed to coming from underneath.  A blues/rock guy from Australia named Dave Hole, goes over the top with his index finger, and he is a MONSTER slide player.
