So - my husband opened his guitar for Christmas...
« on: December 27, 2007, 01:46:04 PM »
....and I am pleased to say that HE LOVES IT!!!!  I'm glad I went with the Alvarez because the first thing he said was he never thought he'd have an Alvarez again...  He picked it up and started playing and we were late for Christmas dinner with my family :).  He said he's going to play a little bit each day to build up his fingers and he wants to take lessons.  Now - I think he plays GREAT and knows a ton of different songs but he says he needs lessons so in a couple of months we're going to look into that!  Thought I'd let you guys know!

Sounds like you made the right choice, Vermonter!!  Good for you!

Now, what about getting Mr. Vermonter to sign up for the forum and then you can both join in the fun [:)] !

Oh, yeah, we'd probably all be willing to browbeat him until he comes through with a D10S for you, too--could be fun [^] .

Be seein' you around these here parts, I hope.......

Haha!  I'm thinking about the Washburn :)  Right now I have a beginner book on reading music and chords.  After we get the house back in shape I can start focusing on that!

My husband did not suspect a thing..well, not until I wrapped it and put it under the tree.  I got a big electic bass box that I used to put around the case to try and disguise the design....  It worked because it was so streamlined even I looked at it and said...wow, if that's a guitar - looks like a real baby guitar.  He said he had no idea that he couldn't figure out the odd shape of the package :)

That's funny!  Ha - no next guitar for him!  It's going to be for me.  I think I'll spring it on him....soon :)  I can't believe how much he loves it though.  I am soooo happy.  Since he hadn't had one in so long I wasn't sure he really still wanted to play.  He dug out some of his old sheet music (that I guess he held on to) last night!
