Washburn N2
« on: January 07, 2008, 07:13:21 AM »
This may sound like the dumbest question in the world, but I've been looking into buying a Wasburn N2 for a while. So I looked at a couple of websites and noticed that some show the N2 with fret markings on the edge of the neck and some of the fret marks are in the centre. What is the difference or am I looking at images of a different guitar altogether?

I believe that the N2s with the fret markers on the side were made over seas.

N2 with offset inlays are the most recent ones, made in China, while the first ones were made in Korea.

I believe it's just a subtle design difference, because those have the same specs as the Korean N2 (with the exception of the quality, though)

Nope... actually it's the other way around :
First N2s (back in 91/92...) were made in Korea (not sure) and had centered dot inlays...
Later (around 2000) : Still made in Korea, side inlays
Later (around 2005 ?) : Made in China : Centered Inlays (but I've heard that there was some huge quality drop compared to the Korean version)

I got a 2003 Korean version with inlays on the side... Which is quite good actually !!
