i love how all our topics go off on a tangent, but no one gets annoyed about it, unlike some forums i've been on!

teleporter work is slow, so far all i've got is a name idea : teleporter. its not exciting, but its clear.

I think they are just countersunk washers that sit on top of the body wood.  I guess they do that to make the screw length the same as if a neck plate was used.

My warwick bass has ferrules for the neck screws.  I can assure you that it is not a weak neck joint.  The plate is just there to look cool and stop the screw heads damaging the wood.  Its easier to do it with a plate as it acts as its own template.  When you put individual ferrules/washers in the have to be lined up right or they will look terrible.

Buddha, As long as were all talking about N series stuff I cant really see how it can be off-topic.  But I know what you mean about other forums chucking their dummies out if you do it!

well i think it'll be easier to try the washers thing to start with, see how that goes and then try making a neck plate after that.  i'm hoping my girlfriend's dad has a pillar drill i can use!! (he has alot of tools!!)

i've got my time machine working sort of, it moves time forward at a rate of one hour every hour, not managed anything else yet, but it's definitely a start!!!!

Ive proudly got all my guitar making tools from Netto!  including a pillar drill stand which you just put a normal drill onto.  I think it was $6. Also got a sander, jigsaw, router from Aldi and I had to get a spokeshave from screwfix.

Isnt your stuff already drilled though mate?

Yeah, body and neck are both drilled, don't fancy trying to counter sink the washers while holding them and trying to drill striaght though!!

need to do the pilot holes for the pickup mounts too.

would be good if i could get a drill stand for that price though, have got a pretty good drill already!!

http://www.mptools.co.uk/products.asp?partno=633764   This is the exact same one ive got, but its a bit more expensive.

You can also get benchtop pillar drills for around $25-30.  They are worth the money though as you dont get a second chance on guitar bodies really.

Sam,
I don't suppose you still have any N4 stickers available, do you? I'm in the States, and my N4 has the replica sticker, which is good, but not great. I'd love to have a real one, and will happily Paypal if that works. Thanks!
