Acoustic dating - D-28s Serial # 3610
« on: November 24, 2008, 07:44:16 PM »
I cannot find a way to date this guitar. If I use the numbering theory posted on this site, it means 1936 was the date of the instrument. Any ideas if that is in fact correct, or am I to look elsewhere for this serial number? Any input appreciated. Joey

Hi Joey, these were built from 1978 to the early 1980s, then again in the late 1980s to 1994. Is that the number on the label? Maybe the last digit didn't print clearly? Or is that number on the neck block?

Ya, might be one of the later models. Maybe customer service would have some info on it... Got any pics?

Yes.. Have picks. Do we know if they were making this model back in the 60's or thirties? CS is no help.
