I'm thinking Korea. Squint knows the Jazz guitars pretty well, maybe he'll be along...

Does it have block inlays and a 5-piece neck?  Might be a good trade.

OK, sorry I didn't see the other photos.  I'm guessing that you went ahead and bought the J6.  Could have been made in Japan, right before they moved production to Korea.  What type of tuners does it have?

finally i made the trade...great guitar! it looks like late 80's model...5 piece neck, L5 type tailpiece (that has lost the gold aspect...) it seems to be a new old guitar...no skratches...still had some plastic covers on the tuners. The tuners are with no brand, but have precission...and the sound! great sustain on low tones, sweet hi tones not estrident, very controled feedback, very harmonic...it has like a reverb sound...

Try some flatwounds on it and you'll be sounding like Wes in no time!

Yeah, that reverb is the great acoustic openness these J6's have.

Enjoy!
