« on: June 14, 2009, 07:35:28 PM »
Washburn forum noob here.....

I recently won a WI66 PRO G and it has a gigbag but I would like to look for a case that fits...

in trying to research I've noticed several cases that may or may not work...is there a list somewhere of case Model #'s that'll work on Idols?
thanks

Maybe you've already been here but, from what I see, looks like GC37 is the right one. See here:

I bet FunkyMunky can help you out on this. I'd ask.

GC37WI OR GC5 will work.  Yes, Funky Munky should be able to help you with it.

thanks,
Nick

I bought a GC5 for my WI-67. It was so snug when i first tried the guitar, I felt robbed. But I developed a way of putting it in the case, and now I actually love it. Super snug. I've seen the Custom shop Idols in GC37's and I'd say it's a bit better fit, but either will work.

case in point. [:D]

Idol in a GC5

note the compression of the case lining at the horn.

My WI Pilsen came with a gorgeous Washburn brown suede covered/green lined case that is by far the nicest case I've ever had. It evevn has a little hydrometer gauge in it!

Beats the pants off my CS Gibson cases and fits the Idol perfectly.

If I were lookin' for a Washburn case the brown/suede type is the one I'd hunt for.

update: Funky Munky says the one above is a GC37 case, $109 plus shipping

They have a really nice rigid soft case at G.C. They fit fine and do just as good a job as the factory hardcase. I think it is a roadrunner brand??
