Washburn Mandolin I may buy
« on: August 27, 2009, 10:55:41 PM »
Washburn Mandolin just came up on Craigs List not more than 15 miles from me. Picture shown looks like from a catalogue, not the actual mando.
Wants $125, and my vintage guitar price guide list it as exc cond: low $375, High  $450.
Catalogue picture looks identical to the one in the vintage guitar guide.
If this is in pretty good cond. when I see it, it may be a great deal.
However, not knowing much about mandolins, what are some of the pitfalls, or known problems to look out for?
Any help is much appreciated.

Bob

Well, I did a little more homework, and found that this is a model M1-K, which is the mandolin starter pack, available for as little as $169 on Amazon.com, so I will not be persuing this acquisition at the $125 price.
Knowledge is power!

Well, Magoo, I'm gonna keep my eye on it and if it's around for a while and the seller gets hungry, and will get south of $100, who knows.
