Info on MB-8
« on: August 29, 2009, 08:15:42 AM »
Glad to have found this forum - looks like lots of information here.

I got a wild hair to pick up playing bass again after at least 30 years of not playing. I picked up an MB-8 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170372341455&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 - and don't yet have it in my hands. Besides the info that's in the auction and the archived info here, can anyone shed some light on this bass?

I'm interested in any info and impressions of the Status pickups, playability, etc.

Thanks,
Alan

Another attempt here.

Picked up an MB-8 a while back and really like the way it plays but I do think there is a problem with the active electronics. The electronics were made by Status. It has four knobs and I assume they are one master volume, one treble/bass for each pickup, and one pickup balance. If this is correct, then one pickup seems much more sensitive than the other.

Can anyone provide confirmation on this knob configuration and /or how to troubleshhoot this thing?
