Does the company still make it? I hate to go through ebay? If I do go to ebay what price range are they? What did they originally sell for? Was it limited or did they make thousands?  Thanks

They're no longer in production. See here.

Keep on top of an internet search, they're out there. You can probably get one for less than $300

Here's one that didn't sell a week ago, maybe he's still got it.

They weren't a particularly good guitar, meant to cash in on the 5th anniversary of a horrible event. :(

(clue: were they made in the United States?)

Speaking of "cynical" & "crass," here's a blog that specializes in -- wait for it -- 9/11 collectibles. ::)
http://collectingseptember11th.blogspot.com/
Therein it's stated that the run consisted of 200 each in red & on blue, & 100 in white. Another source says 100 of each, so who knows?

Elsewhere, it's called the D2001, a model number that makes little sense even by Washburn standards, except to suggest it's at best a decorated D-20 (which is a koa guitar, so maybe not). In other words, the value's in the paint, not the guitar itself, so great for singers who don't actually play much onstage but want to look like A Real Patriot for a song or two.

A red one sold two weeks ago on Reverb.com for $399.

Oh, & this thread is about 9.5 years dead, so officially a Moldy Zombie  ::)
