Expecting a new arrival...
« on: October 24, 2009, 10:19:50 PM »
NO, it's not another kid!  I have 4 boys - no more, please!

I just bought an older C10N Classical guitar.  I'm waiting on shipment now.  Will post pics for all of you when I get it.  Not sure of the year.  Pretty in the sale pics, though.

I DO!  I received it via UPS yesterday.  I put some D'Addario EJ46's on it.  Here are some pics:

Am I correct in assuming this particular guitar was made in 1989 - looking at the serial number??

The C10N plays VERY nice!  For a laminate it has a wonderful tone!  Now, I just have to get used to keeping my thumb behind the neck when I play. ;)

mcloud10 it could very well have been made in 1978 as the blue book lists them as being made from the late 70's and early 80's and says that they were a student grade model along with the C30 and C50 with no specific information on those models.Ship....... not a bad looking guitar if it is that old, looks like it was never out of it's case since it was first bought.

It is in great shape for it's age.  Seller I purchased it from says it did indeed stay in the case for most of its life.  It does have a scratch or two, but nothing serious.

Anybody have a recommendation for a good guitar polish?  Maybe an inside secret or two?  I'd like to try to at least lessen the appearance of the scratches, but won't if it will be intrusive to the lacquer finish.  I've heard of some that used Blue Coral auto wax for their finishes.  Not sure I want to try that!

I think your C-10 was made in 1989......I use  GHS Guitar Gloss on most of my guitars.  It works well on minor scratches and really brings the original finish back to life.
