I have a washburn D-24 but can find no reference to it anywhere. Can anyone help out please with information on it's age where it was made, value if any etc.  There are 2 sets of nos ... 843871 and 324. What do these represent.  Thanks.

All I found was this bundyrum. http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar/product/Washburn/D-24S+Limited+Edition/10/1
Your the second Aussie that has asked after one of these and because it is a limited edition it seems to be harder to find info on them, but at least we know what the 324 is out of a 1000 made, I am wondering if possibly made in Japan and if it is another Yamaki, if you could post some pictures for us it would be highly appreciated.Ship

Hey bundyrum its probably made around 1988 and it reminds me of the Yamaki's made during that time, also looks a lot like the D-34 Augusta I can only guess as to its value, so I am ony GUESSING here and would say around $375-500
Looks as if it might be a solid spruce top and curly ( flame ) maple back and side a very nice looking dread thats for sure.Sorry I couldn't find more info, maybe someone else might know more about them.ship

Thanks for your input. I thought that with the serial no beginning with 84 it may have been made in 1984 ?? What are your thoughts.

No I think that the Yamaki's were about 86-to early 90's, but I could be wrong, sorry I am not at home for this answer so I can't check my dates, Pike would you know if the Yamamki's were made that early.Ship

I doubt it's a Yamaki built. It was probably a special run for a particular seller.

No I think it is a Yamaki Pike went home to compare to my D68SW and there are to many similarities to each other like the Washburn name, the tuner buttons and the same place for the number stamp inside and the time line was in the right spot.
But defintely made for a particular dealer who might have custom orders these, because they just don't show up very often. But like in all things with these limited models we are just giving our best guess.Ship

I also have the original hardcase it came in. If it was a run of only 1000, does it hold any further value because of that.

Tio would you mind sharing your serial number is it 5 or 6 digits, it sure would be nice if Washburn would let us know when they switched from factories. I have never seen a earlier Yamaki then mid 80's.
And bundyrum it doesn't make it more valuable, Washburn has always made things in small runs of 200 guitars ata time and if they go then they do it again I also have a Limited Edition that has a run of only 125 and yet it hasn't gone up in value except to me.Ship
