Nope.[^]

I have the Grover 18:1's on four different mandos and on several guitars.  I don't buy into the sealed gear tuner crap and the guitar tuners are open gear--like a mandolin.  I love them.

The guitar tuners are around $40 bucks a set and the mandolin ones around $65.  So, at a 6 vs. 8 unit (stuff to tune 1 string) comparison that's not a lot of mandolin surcharge.  (Everyone seems to charge us extra.)  Waverlys for the guitar are under $150 and for the mandolin they are $500.  That is a bit of an excessive surcharge.

On the two playable guitars that I have one has the 18:1 Grovers and the other has Waverleys.  Both are slot head so they are a direct comparison.  I like the Grovers at any price and believe them to be a super deal at a third the cost of the Waverleys.
