THIS

IS CRAP!

I hope the new Idol design is a joke, some sort of April fools thing, because I simply can't understand the above atrocity.

It is strange how the same company thats helping to bring the N4 back to life is burying the Idol.

really is a very very dull guitar now.

the best Idol Washburn ever made was the Mike Martin one. that thing was stunning in every way.

Well that new design just looks like a WP series reissue.

Yeah, it doesn't look like an Idol at all.  Reminds me of when, in the very early 80s, Ford made a line of boxy sedans and called them T-birds...

If the new design had looked something like this:

Then I'd believe it's an Idol.  I'm not sure I'd like it enough to buy one, but it'd have more business being called an Idol...

The announcement says new Idol to be announced at Winter NAMM...I wonder if it's been unveiled in person yet?  So far it seems like no one likes this except Washburn themselves.  I just can't imagine retailers or the guitar press (whom have constantly showered the original Idol with nothing but praise) backing Washburn in this case.
