P170RB info needed
« on: January 23, 2010, 12:29:04 AM »
I just purchased a P170RB guitar unfinish that came direct from Washburn. It has an Idol shape with a piece of tape labeling it P170Rb and another with dates of 2006.

There is no serial number.

Does anyone have any info on this design or model?

Thanks,
Kenneth

Probably you just got an unfinished Pilsen that was due to be finished in Root Beer.

Thanks for the info.  That was all I needed to search and find more info on it.

I'm planning on strpping, doing a custom paint job, adding Duncans, gold hardware and making a special little guitar to keep.

I just wish it was chambered, since it is very heavy.  This is my first USA Washburn and I'm more than impressed at their quality of constuction and selection woods.

Yeah, the Pilsens were kinda noted for being real heavy.  I guess that's why they started chambering them-although it does change the tone.

How did you get an unfinished guitar directly from Washburn?

I bought it from a dealer that got it direct.
