d10s e string buzzing on 18th fret. HELP
« on: January 23, 2010, 07:10:42 PM »
hi all, need a little help here. my d10s had been left near the heater overnight and has come apart some at the triangle where the neck meets the body.  in time it settled its way back flush again but now i get a nasty buzz from the 9th fret on.  pushing down on the E string from the bridge its hitting the 18th.  looking down the neck that portion is raised like a bump.  what should i do

If the neck has separated at all from the body, it looks to me like your only solution is a neck reset from a competent luthier.  He can also check out any other damage done by the heat.

I think McCloud is right: a neck reset will probably solve your problem!

Unless you have some sentimental value attached to that particular D10, you might as well buy a new one as the repairs will probably outcost the value.
Great opportunity to upgrade!
