WI 584 VTS

So, would anyone know how I'd go about finding out what the street value is on my new Idol? Unlike the WI68 Custom Shop edition, mine has squared pearl inlays in the center of the fret board instead of one side. Everything else seems to be the same; mohagany body, maple top, mohagany neck, ebony fret board, SD reissue in the bridge and a Custome Custom in the neck, 18-1 Grovers, Buzz Feitzen, VCC, coil taps, etc. etc.

The other and most interesting fact about this custom edition is that before the re-design for the 2010 Idol issue, the guys in the paint shop were goofing around with the Tobacco Burst color and it made a really cool 3D effect to the satin finish. They did this to a couple of remaining bodies they had ready before the retool. I have one of only two in existence and they called it a Voodoo Tobacco Burst. I have no idea what the 584 means but that's what it says on the packing slip.

It's not for sale but I was wondering if I've been lucky enough to wind up with a rare collector's item and how much it might be worth.

thanks

for all I know there's never been a 584 Idol
Washburn did dump it's whole custom shop stock on the market at very low prices and some unusual
variations came out.
the square inlays were used on the WI590 and PI90.
Voodoo was added to the name by dealers because of the satin polyurethane finish (another first
for Washburn)
if it's thin bodied, than it's a WI68 body, the thicker bodies were part of the Pilsen series
(the mahogany with flamed maple belonged to the PI80 and later WI580 and were last renamed to WI590)

post some pics!

Once I figure out how to post the pics I will. For now I can tell you that I agree that there was/is no 584 line accept for the one I have and the one that's still at the custom shop (at least it was as of 3/9). I've been told they made only two.

Does it look something like this?

funky munky calls it a Washburn WI566 USA Idol thick body w/ block inlay
which is kinda weird, the WI566 suppose to be all mahogany
it's not a WI568 because those are thin bodied, the WI590/WI90/PI80 had flamed maple top
but also had body binding, which this one doesn't have.
the neck is WI590 but the fingerboard suppose to be ebony and not rosewood.

I guess WI584 does makes sense...

Yep, that's it. Thin body though. I don't know what you mean by a body binding. I've only been into it for a couple of years. I'm just a guy who knows somebody who knows somebody and wound up with one of two.
