WI566 or WI568+EMG's for higain?
« on: March 21, 2010, 03:50:12 PM »
Has anyone compared WI566 and WI568(with changing pups on EMG) on higain?

I think 568 because of the maple top is to be more cleaner sounds.
But I'm afraid that would miss lows and bass-punch.

Maybe somebody compared them?

using such high output pickups as EMGs are would make the difference negligible
I had EMGs in my X50, PI80 and now in my WM526, all sound pretty much the same.

I don't think so, all guitars with EMG, that I had, sounded differently.

Whilst I agree that they would not sound exactly the same, I also agree that the difference would be miniscule, and therefore would most likely just go for the cheapest option.

No, difference not would be miniscule.
I listened a lot guitars with EMG and collected their DI-tracks.
EMG quite accurately conveys the sound of wood.
And two relatively thin guitars, with and without thick maple top, will sound completely different.
