WB400SWK discontinued? Love mine.
« on: March 24, 2010, 08:21:42 PM »
Does anyone know... has the WB400SWK been canceled by Washburn? The only Baby Jumbo that I found on the Web site was the WB200SCESJ, which is in the Artwork Series.  If so, what a shame. I'm sure glad I found this cedar-top WB400SWK. Mine has no electronics (I've also felt that you sacrifice a bit of acoustic tone when you drill). It has such great tone and sustain. Plays and sounds super open and up the neck (5th position and beyond). Really comfortable body. Great neck (like all Washburns). Very nice workmanship. My Martin D-28 has nice tone too, but I much prefer playing this Baby Jumbo (hours a day). I hope Washburn puts them back into production. If anything ever happens to this one (God forbid), I'd be hunting for another one.[^]
P.S. I also have a Washburn dreadnought cutaway with B-Band electronics (WD32SCE), which I've played for years and love very much, but this WB400SWK is in a whole other class when it comes to acoustic tone.

You can still find them online, for now that is.  Washburn is in the process of upgrading/revamping their lineup.  However, they are still listed in the catalog, dated 2009.
