Hi all, I am looking for any information on a Washburn MG40 Mercury Series Guitar. All I know is is that it has a 600s tremeloe and has a steel plate with a serial number on the back. It has one of the original allan keys and a replacement both in a screw type holder on neck. I have the original tremeloe bar and i think the original hard case (nobody would replace it with some thing that awful) it has two single pick ups and one that looks like two together. the body is a glittered black and scratch plate is white with faint glitter effect. I would like to know as much as possible about this guitar and history and also what its value is. Will supply serial number on steel plate if needed. thankyou all in advance.

further investigation has me stumped as serial code should start with 92 but it doesn't it starts with 20. After trying to look this up on washburn main site the only info i can glean is that this is probably a custom mg40 and yes condition is perfect although i think some of the screws need a little oil.

Nope the serial number shouldn't start with a 9 unless its a 1999. Mercury's of that age as the serial number Xnnnnnn for year 199X
