The HM Prototype rocking out Maidstone

We (Crux) played a recent stormer of a gig in Maidstone, and there's the HM prototype in action. It looks reddish in these photos as the stage lights were red ;-)

Rosewood neck and bolt on - but real OFR rather then licensed.. its sort of a half way house between the two price ranges

very cool! Thanks for clarifying!  Im tempted to put an OFR on my HM24.  Everything else is great.  I have a Duncan Custom8 and jazz neck in mine. So, would an OFR improve much?  What are the inlays??

Are there clips anywhere?  I dont have a myspace..

Check out the band myspace above and the tracks up there use the Prototype for the rhythm work...

I love the OFR's, very good - but then I haven't really had much problems with Washy's licensed FR's either, but the OFR is one solid piece of kit.

The inlays are like flames...

I was thinking the same. I've got a bunch of guitars with reasonable quality licensed FRs and a few with Originals. The licensed ones aren't as nicely finished but they seem to work as well. The Takeuchi made ones on my Washburns and Jackson I find really rather good.

Its odd because over on Jemsite (where I sometimes spend my time) its only really Edge/Edge Pro and OFR's that get rated, aside from Gotoh's. I've only ever had ONE problem with a Takeuchi trem where I actually had a bridge saddle fall apart when I tightened it up - but apart from that, they're solid - particularly the lo-profile 800s...

I can not confirm.  I've been trying to purchase a washburn wm526 sense the first week of April.  This has not been a easy task sense they have been discontinued from the manufacture (many phone calls across america have confirmed this.)  But what I did find out was that washburn was in the process of redoing this guitar. Same exact body. No one can confirm the neck or electronic specs as of yet.  But rumor from multiple dealers have stated that it is NOT going to have a reverse headstock.  Some have also stated that it was going to be titled under a different series name.  I have also been told that there was a lot of complaints about the no fret markers.  I personally love the no fret markers.  I look forward to this new ax, but i will purchase the original wm526b.  It has the exact specs i was looking for before i ever found this washburn.  Exact specifications!  Hope the new one is of equal quality.
