I have a Hitachi DZ-MV550A DVD video recorder.  It records in DVD-RAM format on 8cm disks.  One problem: the DVD-RAM format is a .vro file.  This file has to be converted to an .mpg, .avi, or other file compatible with YouTube.  Since my upgrade to XP, the software that converts the file to .mpg won't work.  So...I have to use my old laptop with W2K to download and convert the files.  Kind of a pain until I can find a workaround or better program that works with XP.

I think the newer Sony DVD Handi-cams work in a friendlier format.

I'm not so sure about that, Buddha.  I don't think the rules say you have to be playing a Washburn.

Toaster,
I think this means only Washburn acoustics

3) Successful uploading/submission of one (1) or two (2) 35-second video clips to YouTube.com demonstrating the entrant’s best playing ability on a Washburn acoustic guitar.

I submitted a quick video yesterday just for fun, but it hasn't shown up. Maybe it won't. Maybe too late.
I would liked to have used my Martin because I haven't played the Washburns in a while and the necks are as different as night and day.

Mike, I'll have to try that with our Sony Cybershot.  It can take videos, too.  I forgot about that!

Bluegrass,

So, what did you play, and what did you play it on?

Mark,

I played a little Blackbird on my D121S. I haven't played the tune or the guitar for quite a while so it is a little rusty. The mosquitoes were vicious so I only did one take.

I'm like you and Mike, a little nervous but thought what the heck, the contest needed a third player.

I filled the form out again because I used the embed html instead of the embed code, dah.

If It doesn't make it on, I will post a link later so you can see it.

I enjoyed the videos you and Mike put up quite a lot. I also am a Banjo Ben fan.

Good luck to both you and Mike,
     Jack

Bluegrass...I think WB has to approve the vids so I'm betting yours will shop up Monday.

The contest is supposed to be over today but they extended it for some reason...I guess they weren't happy with the # of entrants.  So, we may be going back and forth like this all summer until 50 people sign in, who knows.

In any event, it's been fun and good luck to you and MCloud!!

You were right Mike, they showed up to day. I thought I might have filled out the form wrong.

I'm surprised there weren't more posted.

EDIT: Nevermind. I'm too young. BS much?

still hoping for a certan washburn mando...maybe one day.
