Washburn Festival Series EA10
« on: June 12, 2010, 10:45:44 AM »
I have just purchased a Washburn Festival Series acoustic guitar.
The serial number is 96080036 and the model number is EA10. Its intonation is great and it plays reasonably well. It has a mellow tone, but not as much projected volume as some acoustics.

Can anyone tell me what this guitar is worth? I have always played Fender guitars and I don't know much about Washburn guitars.

What confuses me is that this site shows that it sold for $679.00 in 1996, but now I see new EA10's selling for $148.00.

Thanks.
Terry

I am in the same boat.  I have an EA10b that i have had for about 6 years now.  Got it new for about 350 from musicians friend (as a gift).   Amazon shows a model for 150.00 in colors of red, white and black.   I found another site offering the EA10b but it had a completely different cutout than the model that i have.

I have a '91.. I believe these were pretty high end guitars at that time, and they have probably gradually gone to cheaper production.  Just a guess, but I know mine is still comparable to a lot of expensive guitars.

I have an EA-10 Festival series as well...97S ...Great sounding and playing guitar...I've had mine over 10 years...traded it for some stuff...about $300.00 I think....these originally went for $700 + the EA-10 was like the lowest end hand-built US Model..I'm sure there are tons more made other places for less...mine has the equis eq not the fishman..but still sounds awesome....recently had mine set up at Lay's Guitar in Akron Ohio...and man...it plays just beautifully...I plug mine in...has a low z input as well...unplugged...its not even half as loud as my epiphone EJ200...which really projects sound...but plugged in...this GW acoustic is top notch...and yes, I've played many others and still prefer this one...its my main guitar for my praise band..
Rock -N- Roll Forever...

the EA-10 was like the lowest end hand-built US Model  I don't think the EA10s were ever built in the USA.
