"N2": My Guitar Identity Crisis (dun dun DUN!)
« on: July 16, 2010, 03:29:38 PM »
Alright, so I bought a black N2 from a music shop a few months back that I've frequented for about 12 years. An odd looking black Washburn hanging on the wall caught my eye; I knew it was some sort of Nuno model at first glance, since, my friend in high school owned one.

The owner said he and his co-worker were having a hard time pinpointing exactly how old it was, and, if it may be a prototype, or, something of the sort... He mentioned searching the net & contacting Washburn directly, to no avail.

The thing is: from a majority of what I've read (*so far*) most N2's don't have a push/pull tone knob that splits the bridge p/u AND a standard volume knob..

Anywho, I was just wondering EXACTLY what kind of N2 I have?
The trem is a Washburn 600 S.
The neck plate number is 0120598 and I'm confused whether it has the Fake Stephen's extended cutaway/SEC design??? (What the hell is that??..)

Also, just curious if anyone could tell me what year & country it was made in? I assume the 01xxxxx serial number automatically points to 2001?

Thanks, in advance,
Jawsh the N00b [:p]

by other auctions I've seen, it will be hard to get more than 200 bucks for it, but who knows... ;-)
probably you could get 250-300 if it is well cared....

well...

in the UK the Korean N2 frequently go for over $200 (so about $300???)

depends on whether there is a collector wit the cash available at the time, a first year could potentially go for more

Thanks JoseI & the_high_number for the help.
Now I'm second guessing selling the guitar: it's a 1st year and it couldn't be in any better shape. I know it's not highly sought after, but, it would be nice to keep around and take care of for another 20+ years...

**The Washburn humbuckers in my guitar: do they have any model name?
Or simply called Washburn humbuckers?
