Pre-amp problems
« on: July 30, 2010, 07:01:01 PM »
I have an old Washburn G40CEB acoustic/electric.  I changed my battery for the first time (which involves loosening the strings and reaching through the sound hole lol), plugged it back into my amp and there is no sound.  Sometimes it will crackle and you can hear the sound for a second, but that's it.

I'd really like to fix this as I can't really afford to have it fixed at the moment.

Maybe I knocked a wire loose or something when I changed the battery?

It's very inaccessible and I miss playing through my amp.  Any suggestions?

Thats what it sounds like to me, pull off the strings again. and have a look see. If its just a loose wire maybe you can fix it yourself.its not that hard to do f**k I did it...LMAO
I would make sure the battery is good first even some new ones are dead all ready...LOL
Good luck

Thanks.  I'll give it a whirl.  I've tried 3 different 9 volts, and I'm still to wussy to put one on my tongue to test it. LOL.
