Washburn SJ32s questions
« on: September 22, 2010, 05:52:13 PM »
Hi all,

I've been looking at an SJ32S in a used pawn shop.  It sounds fantastic.  Its priced at $268 (CDN).  Seems to be in great shape - though i'm not an expert.

Does this sound like a reasonable price?  It doesn't appear washburn makes this model anymore.  I haven't been able to find much information about this guitar.  Is it a good quality guitar (for the price)?

Thanks for any suggestions you can give.

- J

Unusual business model.
Is there a huge demand for used pawns where you live that someone has devoted a whole shop to selling them?
Do they sell new pawns too or is it exclusively a used pawn shop?

Thanks.  Any idea why this line was discontinued? And when?  I'm trying to figure out how old this guitar might be.

I would guess either low sales or high costs.  Maybe both.

Less than 50 years----so.........not old enough for age to be a significant factor in any concerns.

If it's got tuners, tits, or tires----it's gonna cost you.

Doesn't show up in the blue book. Could have been a limited number built for a particular seller, possibly only built the one year. What's the serial number?

Hi Pike - was finally able to get the serial number:

SI40703983

Note - the 'I' in the serial could also be a number '1'. Not certain.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks.  I'm from the Toronto area.  Only have a beginner level guitar at the moment but shopping around for the next step up!

I've tried a few washburn models and i really seem to like them so i'll likely be hanging out in the forums alot.

C U all around!
