The neck is three pieces with a joint a few inches below the headstock and one down at the heel, which you noticed.

I'll try to take some more pictures today. I took the picture above last night to show how the body wood goes together, but it wasn't easy taking it inside with a flash. I hope to do better outdoors.

I see. When you mentioned 3 piece neck I wondered what you had.
Mine has a typical scarf joint between 1st and 3rd frets, but that's it.

I believe he actually said The old stuff had a maple cap with a flame veneer

He was referring to the Korean made idols that had a flame maple top.
Most Wi-66's had a quilted maple cap that showed through the finish, as opposed to the tobacco bursts, etc. guitar that had a flamed look.

It looks like it went the entire week without getting any bids, which is a shame. [:(] Of course, with the present economy, not many people have much to spend.
