wiring question
« on: October 20, 2010, 03:51:38 PM »
In the diagram below, could someone pls tell me which two coils on each HB are active when the coils are split?

http://n4ever.free.fr/wiring/SD59BLUSA_Split.jpg

Ive installed a SD59 into the neck of my N2, following the exact same diagram as above, but I find when I split the neck coil the outer or the screw side becomes active. It's doing my head in.[8D]

I havent touched the BLusa bridge pickup btw. It's inner coil is active on split, which what I would expect.

Is that correct?

Found what the problem was. The guitar was wired incorrectly from the onset. The BL pup has the wrong wire grounded, the switch had no earth points on the contacts, wires too long and exposed.
I unsoldered everything of the switch and started again. Now everything works perfectly.
This is a brand new N2 purchased 20 months ago. The solder joints were cold with solder spikes. Some were close to touching other contact parts. Woeful job.
I compared this to my other late 90's N2 korean made and the difference is chalk cheese.

I dont think im ever going to buy another Made in Indonesia again. [:(!]
