Hmmm...I could swear the body is finished in tung oil.  For the life of me, I can't find the thread on the funky forum.

Generally they are but to give the vintage series it's look, they use the beeswax mix

we use Old Masters Urethane gel to oil the N4's.
to get the Vintage look, we mix in a little ebony dust.

relic/vintage bodies are finished with a gel as nick has stated.   Other natural matte N4's are tung oil on the bodies.  The necks/FB's are the lemon oil/beeswax combo finish.

N2's and I would imagine the new N24 imports are a thin satin poly finish to neck and body.
if you cant afford it, build it
