Pre-issue or 2.0 Reissue?
« on: November 15, 2010, 02:33:03 PM »
http://www.funkymunkymusic.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=1227

I'm confused by this funky munky catalog item. How can one distinguish between a 1 of 9 pre-issue test model Davies spec and a Davies 2.0 pad reissue? One piece? Serial#? My Davies 2.0 pad has a serial# 0912416. I understand that to mean it is no. 416 Davies 2.0 in padauk.

Pre-issue or 2.0 Reissue?

I believe this was the second run of pre-production 2.0 Padauks.  This run came shortly after the success of the first run, or the special 8 (I was able to grab one of those 8).  Washburn allowed Funky to get them into players hands in order to get feed back with regard to the 2.0 updates or changes.  It's my understanding that after the first 8 and the second 9, Washburn made a few minor tweaks before the N4XX went into final production.  The special 8 (one-piece bodies)were the prototype 2.0.  I think the second batch of 9 (two-piece bodies) can be considered the same.

Fantastic guitars!

Thanks for the input! Washburn only informed me that my 416 is the 416th guitar to come out of the shop without giving me any good info about my model.

You got that right! I'm practicing my ass off just to be worthy to play the instrument.
