CASE FOR MY NEW D52SW
« on: November 23, 2010, 04:34:34 PM »
Looking for input from you long time players.
I just got my new D52SW from my local shop........without a case.
I got a gigbag to keep it in, but want a decent case.
I have looked at SKB-18...and also the deluxe musicians gear and Silver Creek archtop at the MF site.

I want one that fits good and is good quality.......I am asking for your feedback on what you have used/ seen.

I WANT TO BE HAPPY THE FIRST TIME WITH WHAT I BUY.

Thanks

Jim,
welcome to the forum and congrats and the D52SW.  In all honesty, you are the best judge of fit and quality for your guitar. You also said you want a 'decent case' and what's decent to you may not be to someone else.  So what I'd suggest is to bring that baby in to your local guitar shops and see what case fits best and looks like best quality to you.

BTW, the case that came with my D56SWCE was not the best fit, but I usually keep a couple of small towels in the case anyway so can use those to pack it in snug.

Guitars, I have a few - but then again, too few to mention

If it's got tuners, tits, or tires----it's gonna cost you.

Beware of cases that have a nauseating funk to them.  They stink really bad and it's impossible to get rid of the odor.  The stink factor is not covered by the Unconditional You'll Like It Or Return It. You WILL Be Happy With Us. policies of on-line dealers.  They might take it back after a lot of struggling with them, but you'll still have to pay shipping both ways.  It's cheaper to just throw it away.  Which I did.  Nothing worked and I tried many things. It pervaded the room it was in, the odor clung to the guitar for hours, and it was very bad.

I never found out what caused the odor,,, Glues? Material covering?  A Chinaman who died while trying to slip into the U.S. by hiding out in a shipping container? So your best bet to check out which brands this might be,, and find something else. Digital Piano
