D12C/TS with broken neck; worth repairing?
« on: December 16, 2010, 08:16:59 PM »
Hi new to forum.
This guitar has come into our possession and we would like to know is it worth having it repaired.
We could post images if necessary. Is it it worth putting it up for sale online?
It has a inlaid line down the back. The tuners have Washburn branded on them. There is a serial number inside, where the neck joins, above the model D12C/TS. 9309008
There is a stamp inside just below the hole. George Washburn on an oval.

Please, any information would be most welcome

Welcome to the forum, sorry it's with bad news...  You can post pictures, but a replacement neck with labor will probably set you back more than finding another D12.  Looks like a 1993 Sunburst model but may be 1989, and they are generally of good quality in that period but you could probably find another for less than the replacement neck.  You could try to sell it but anyone that buys would have the same situation.  The way the necks are mounted to the body make them labor intensive to replace or do a neck reset.

Guitars, I have a few - but then again, too few to mention
