Author Topic: Tuning problems with new WI-50 VBK guitar. (Read 1424 times)

I purchased a Washburn WI-50 VBK model guitar. While I love the different tones it can produce, as well as the action of the neck. But it doesn't stay in tune for nothing. It is a double locking system with a Floyd rose bridge. I've had it for about 3 weeks now. The strings are the stock ones that came with the model. I've been hesitant about changing the strings until I can figure out why it keeps dropping in pitch after it has been tuned. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a WI50V and haven't had a problem with tuning. Floating Floyds can be tricky. Especially if its your first Floyd. Take the time needed to check that everything is tightend properly. Make sure the Floyd is parallel with the body. There are quite a few vids on You Tube that got thru the steps. Once you get it you get it. I can re-string my WI50V, or any Floyd guitar, in about 10 minutes. Just takes patience.

I fixed my problem. I just added and extra spring in the back. That solved the intonation problem. Hey, let me ask you, what is the difference between the WI50V and the WI50VBK? I mean just looking at the picture and they look identical. Any info would be great.

BK is almost certainly the colour code.
