For you mando pickers, there's a new site out there:

http://www.mandohangout.com/

And for you cool people there's also a banjo hangout.  [:D]

magoo, I will post.  I read everyday I just don't post enough.
Does anyone know of a good site to order a nut for a mandolin?  My nut broke and I am trying to do the work myself.

Merlin...try this link.  I'm not connected with this site in any way, but it looks like a great resource for mando related stuff.  The banjo hangout has been invaluable to me as a learner.

Bob Colisi at:

http://www.guitarsaddles.com

Bob can make you a nut, all you need to do is provide your measurements.

Getting it slotted, though, might be a trick at home...unless you have a set of slotting files.  I had Bob provide the nut blank for my WD32SW and had the luthier fit it (Colosi's products are intentionally shipped slightly oversize and do require final fitting), polish it, install it and slot it...cost me about $20 for all that labor [^] .  I was [:D] , to say the least!

Oh, yeah....I think I'll start posting more here on this board, too...going to the monthly bluegrass festival in Pearl, TX in February, and since the focus of this board is more bluegrass oriented than the Acoustic Guitar forum, it seems like a great place to post about that event.

Cheers from.....

Dugly [8D]

Look on e-barf for a Tusq nut.  I got one for about 10 bucks or so.  I came slotted and I slapped it onto a junk mando for a quick sale.  It did't work like my set-up Eastman but it was alright.
If it's got tuners, tits, or tires----it's gonna cost you.

Nope, not much at all. I wonder is it possible for us to change that?
Its hard to invite people, when there is nothing here for then.
Maybe washburn could even push there Mandos more.

Junior we can talk hockey now.
My Predators took a big one from the Nucks last night.  Tight race in the west every point is huge.
