Purple people eater?
« on: February 02, 2011, 05:43:43 PM »
Just to get this out of the way: I love the sound of my WI-64DL, although it needs adjusted slightly. I liked the blue color that I had for a half dozen years or so, as well. In the last year or so the body has been turning purple from the center outward. The edge still has the same deep blue that it started with. In the last couple of months friends have been asking me if I got a new guitar, it's not just me. I don't leave it in the sun or under particularly harsh lighting for very long, at least no more than I had for the early years. At first, I wasn't cool with it, but it's grown on me and I'm starting to dig it.

Anyone else have a color changing guitar?

My spruce top is yellowing....no smoking just 29 years old.  The changing color won't effect the tone........but refinishing will......janeguitar.com
