Believe it or not, I JUST saw a natural finish alder possibly N7 on Americal Idol just a few minutes ago. Rhianna's guitarist was playing it for the guitar solo. You could clearly see the Washburn on the headstock and N7 on the body. And she was a 7 stringer with 2 humbuckers. Sounded fantastic....
about 7:45pm CST.

I wouldnt joke about this guys. Watch the show and see.....

When I said possibly I meant that the guitar was possibly made of alder, not that it was possibly an N7. It was. It really was an N7.

Just a head's up there, the guitarist you saw on American Idol wasn't just any guitarist, it was Nuno Bettencourt.

So that means that either 1) Nuno is playing in Rhianna's backup band or 2) that Nuno is playng in this year's Idol band. Do you really think they'd call him up just for one song?
And thanks for pointing out it was Nuno. I'd wondered what he'd been doing lately.

Hey no probs! Yep, he's touring with Rihanna right now.

I was pretty disappointed that the whole thing was prerecorded. Seeing him up there faking it is just [xx(]

Alot of the time on those shows, the show tells the artist what is live and whats recorded. Knowing that, if the show was a recording Im sure the only people that wanted it that way was some executive at fox. Also that guitar playing was Nuno, all you have to do is listen to it. Thats him playing.

It was clearly faked. Really, really clearly. I paused it to show my wife how terrible of a job he was doing of faking it. Yes, it was really Nuno, but prerecorded, not live.

You're right though, he would have had no say in the matter. We all know he can tear it up, and I'm sure he would have much rather played it for real.
