WI66 Bridge Humbucker weak?
« on: May 08, 2011, 09:39:30 PM »
This is really bizarre. I just got a WI66PRO with all original wiring - no mods - where the bridge pickup works but is extremely weak sounding,
The neck pickup sounds as it should. I opened the control cavity and everything seemed connected correctly. Even the VCC control seem to work even though the sound is really weak? Thought I would ask before de-soldering and testing the humbucker directly out to a pot.

Customer Service did not have an over the phone based answer.
Guess I will be de soldering to isolate the issue.

Ok fixed. I simply went through each wire and assure there was no cross connections/shorts. I don't even know what fixed it but it now has no problem. somethin' was touchin' somethin' else.

Could something have been touching the shielding paint in the cavity. I've had problems with that before now.
