Looks like them days is over ol' pal... There was some talk a while back about Washburn possibly re-issuing a USA built Cherokee. Never happened.

You think they could find an out-of-work luthier to build to their specifications.........I hate to see the tradition fade away like that....

I think they're still making some electrics in the States, aren't they?

Yes, we still make electrics in the US and i'm working with a luthier to build some acoustics.  I have given him specs for the first model and should have a sample soon.  If the price and quality are good on this first one then more will follow.  Sorry it's taking so long but there's alot going on here.

I'm a newbie, but i have a long lost Norman 6 string that disappeared in my parting days. I notice that just about all acoustic guitars are made in China

Martin, Gibson, Guild, Ovation, Breedlove, PRS are making production acoustic guitars in the USA.  Not an easy task, but it is being done.  Add to the list dozens of boutique builders.

Welcome Zorro4434,I have a 2011 Guild 30E-ASB  made in China it is very high quality I think,Sounds incredible. So China can make a good product, it is like all things, how much are you willing to pay. For me it was 850.00. I'm also looking for a new Marten or Taylor. Would be nice for a new medium or high end Washburn acoustic. Tom.  [:)]  ... Guild GAD30E-ASB,
