Can anyone tell me, Is there a noticeable sound difference in the Clear head ? Or is it just cosmetic?

It really makes little difference if the head is colored or clear, sound wise.  Things you want to consider if you go with a clear head is-1)is the inside of the resinator finished nicely?  It will be visible thru a clear head so it really is important.  2)most of us 5 string players like the textured surface of the painted heads, it helps to hold the fingers in place.  Now if you are playing a tenor (4 string) or are not 3 finger picking a 5 string, then it won't make any difference if the head is clear or frosted or painted.
As a locksmith and banjo player I am always pickin and grinin!
