Woodstock 12 Parts
« on: April 07, 2012, 11:01:23 AM »
I have a woodstock-12 Guitar and it I would like to replace some of the parts. Cannot seem to find them and also cannot determine what year it was made. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Usually a 8######## serial, the first two numbers are the year. And 6 numbers is the first number. Some older guitars and special ones are different.  Tom.   :)

Thanks T.Y. So I now know I have a 1982 model, do you know where I can get parts for it? I need a couple of frets replaced and would like to replace the individual saddles on the bridge.

You will probably need to take the guitar to a luthier to have the frets replaced.  That's a pretty sophisticated DIY job.  If you want to try and tackle it go to StewMac.com.  Good resource for luthier equipment.  Also, if you buy the equipment to replace a couple of frets you will also want to level and crown the frets so they "match"  the older frets.  Again, a lot to do for a DIY job.

Re: the individual saddles.  I have done this job by cutting each piece using a dremel tool.  You need to copy each piece exactly or the intonation will be off.  Again look over the Stewmac site.  I bought a bone blank and cut away.  Get two, you will likely make a hash of things the first go around.
