D10 ? .... or something older .... ?
« on: May 25, 2013, 03:05:12 AM »
Stumbled across this on eBay ...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Washburn-D10-Acoustic-Guitar-/140980216914?pt=AU_Musical_Instruments_Instruments&hash=item20d3136452

I'm no expert, but I've never seen a D10 with a "Martin style" headstock like this one ?    (It looks remarkably similar to my late 70s D62SW)

I'll see if I can get the seller to take a pic of the model & serial number

I do not see a label in the hole. I have never seen one like that either.   But it will be nice to see if I learn something new.   Tom.  :)

That piqued my curiosity, too .... who knows, it might be something different (and better ?) than what he thinks it is , and a potential bargain ;)

I may be wrong on this, but I believe I've seen pictures of some of the Beckman era acoustics with that headstock.

He sent me some photos today ...... it's actually a D15, not a D10.

Interestingly, it seems to have TWO serial numbers ?  One stamped on the neck block (081500, with an "N" above it) and one on the centre  brace in the back (81618) next to the "D15" stamp

I'm guessing it's about a 1981 model, all-laminate guitar  ?  Anyone have any info on these ?

This is probably more likely to be a Crossover between Beckmen Musical and after Rudy bought the Washburn brand its a typical Washburn head from the Beckmen Musical Instruments much like my W-300-12 or like Pikes W-600.ship
