Does the forum software allow us to stay "logged in"?
« on: August 31, 2012, 11:35:28 AM »
Recently I had to replace my router, and now I find that I have to enter my username and password every time I visit the forum, even though I do not "Logout" every time.

Is there a function or setting I can use to allow me to stay logged in and avoid having to re-enter that information every time I sign on?

Thanks for whatever information you can provide!

Cheers!

Yep do not log into the top right hand side instead on the first bar where the home help section log into the log in there and once you do you'll see it say stay logged on forever.ship

I tried, it keeps telling me that my username is incorrect and won't let me log in.

I can log in just fine using the login on the upper-right corner, but have to do that every time.

Do I have to re-register for some reason?

I would e-mail webguy and ask him he's pretty knowledgeable about that kind of stuff, not to sure why that does that Dugly it might have something to do with your settings for your computer.ship

Where did you find it on your profile?  I couldn't find it on the Profile Summary, the Account Settings, or the Forum Profile section?

I did not click on the "modify" button, since I didn't see it anywhere to modify it.

Thanks for whatever info you can give, Tom!

Thanks, Tom!

I think that might work, will see next time I X out of the forum site without logging out.

I do notice that "LOGIN" has disappeared from that bar, and has been replaced with "LOGOUT", although not in the same place.  Let's hope that means good news!

[EDIT: YEE-HAW, it worked!!!! Thanks, again, Tom!!!]

Cheers!

Hey just learned something new.  I have PC Tools Registry Mechanic. When ever I let it run all the way through, it makes me have to sine in again. Norton 360 remembers my name and password. But I still have to forever log in.  Tom.  :)

I found an easy way to access the "stay logged in forever" function.

Just input your user name wrong, it will prompt the forum software to display a screen that says something to the effect of "That user name does not exist".

You will have to put your correct user name in and your password, but below that there is a box you can check to "Stay logged in".  I'm functioning from memory, which has never been good even before the '60's and '70's, so the exact terminology might not be accurate, but the general idea is intact.

Cheers!
