OT -- What's your new years resolution(s)?
« on: December 30, 2012, 07:08:06 PM »
Well, let's hear em.

For me, I want to get my golf score into the low-mid 80's and get better at the bass. Start playing it in the band.

Oh, and lose weight, eat less, get in shape, yada yada yada  ::)

Your turn!

Musically I'd also like to learn to play bass.  Right now I'm in the hunt and peck around for notes that sound right category.  Messing around with the bass has also made me much more aware of my shall we say loose approach to rhythm.  With the Bass you needs to be in the pocket.  When playing the 6 or 12 string I generally I play solo, so slightly speeding up in spots, slowing in others is not a huge issue.  But, it's still sloppy and something I need to work on.

I've also been doing some song writing and recording.  Hope to have something "finished' in early 2013.

In 2013 I'll also pass one of those big, round number birthday milestones.  Might be a "serious" NGD to mark that occasion.

Nothing does that faster than playing with other musicians, I have found.

Are you jammin' with others?

I notice that every time my skills take a jump it's b/c of something I've seen around the circle.

My new years' resolution....always the same.  I resolve not to kill any butterflies with a sledge-hammer.

...oh, yeah....and to try to stay on the top side of the dirt.  64 years old today!

Cheers!

None zip nadda no way no how. At my age I have decided I don't need to make anymore resolutions that I have never kept ( well all except one regarding family first ).
I do have some hopes and aspirations for the new year but thats between me and the big guy ( upstairs ) and hopes that Washburn can be the company it once was again ( sorry its just a shell of its former self since Rudy sold it ).ship

All right, not so much resolutions as attainable goals.Keep my lovely wife fooled into thinking I'm the man she wants;Make my way to my friend Paul's house more frequently to either learn more from him,or maybe just stand there in awe of something new he has again made look way too easy;Keep putting my basement in order;Fix some of the found guitars in my shop;Keep my family in touch with each other; And deal with the knowledge that our youngest will be soon signed up for driver's education!God help us,peace-out.

To stop taking Gigs just because i wanna play.  to take more gigs that help the bands name get out there.  sometimes its not all about the money.
