DO NOT force it, take it to were you bought it. Mine use a allen wrench, came with some of the guitars, but if not,  one to fit is easy to find.   I have been looking a while,  a while longer wont hurt.  LOL.   Tom.  :)  :)

Most techs just toss the factory "L" shaped allen wrench and go with a T-handle extension with a swivel fitting and an allen-wrench socket on it.  That way you can tune the neck with the guitar strung up to tension, which is exactly how it should be adjusted.

Imagine a gun cleaning kit, that device that pushes the brushes and swabs down into the bore of the barrell...with an allen wrench on the end, fitted with a swivel fitting.  Makes it easy.

Cheers!!

I'm taking it into the shop today. The shop owner said he would make good on it either way. He had a couple other D10s in stock but this was the only tobacco burst. Hopefully he will be able to fix mine.
I know it's only an inexpensive import and not a pre war martin or something, but I'm kinda fond of it already

ok crisis averted.
The store got it fixed. It took a little more torque than I was willing to give it. It works fine now 8)
