1999 CTS Centurion From the Custom Shop
« on: March 02, 2013, 08:30:13 PM »
I just got it for my 16th birthday, but I want to replace a lot on this guitar. I'm also wondering about the history of this series. Also, my Grandparents payed $500, was this a fair price?

As long as there are no condition or electronic issues with the guitar, $500.00 is probably a fair market value for this model.  You have a CTS SG. This model was made at the USA Custom Shop in 1999 and 2000 only.
Your models headstock should look just like the one in the photo below (note the Custom Shop decal in the center of the headstock and the tuners):

Any modifications that you make to the model (unless you're replacing a noisy volume or tone control) will probably take away from the instruments value.  If you think, at some point, that you might want to sell this instrument....modifications , as a general rule, will not help the resale value.

PS: You might want to move this post to the Electric section of the forum.....
