Washburn Raven (First version)
« on: April 19, 2013, 04:24:48 PM »
Here is my Washburn Raven. I guess it's the first version ('78-'79?) of it because there is no Washburn logo at the neck-plate. Could you tell me how much is it worth? I don't know much about guitars because actually I'm a drummer, but I often play guitar just for fun. Thanks

You know its not a 1988. You know that Washburn in the very late '80s I think it was, used only the last number of the year, assuming you'd know the decade. They did not do that in the late 1970's. So I have a picture of a 1980 Raven, also with the stickered Serial Number that says 80369E.

So I have to conclude that somebody fat-fingered your serial number and it should have been 78312E
Interesting!  Not the first mistake I have seen from Washburn.

Note: the reissue Raven was called an SB-5 and was a 1994 model. (Never saw a 1993 or a 1995, are there any?)  But sure never had a 1988 reissue!!

After some more research, I'd have to say it is indeed a 1978 Raven. Found another example from a dealer.
